RIGWIRE WITS

This page displays live WITS (Wellsite Information Transfer Specification) channel values from the latest instrument sample for the selected serial number. Use it to monitor drilling and rig data fields, pin important channels to the TOP WITS banner, and open live realtime data.

PAGE LAYOUT

Top row

  • Serial number drop-down, WITS HELP button, and REALTIME DATA.

Main panel

  • Status line, WTIS channel count, and reload countdown.
  • TOP WITS: large readout cards for pinned channels.
  • Grouped fieldsets below: WITS fields organized by two-digit group code, each line showing label, current value, and a checkbox to pin to TOP WITS.

SERIAL NUMBER

Select the instrument serial number from the drop-down at the top of the page.

All WITS data and pinned selections use this serial.

Changing the serial reloads WITS for that unit. Checkbox selections for TOP WITS are saved separately per serial in your browser.

STATUS AND AUTO-REFRESH

The status line shows the current load state (for example, loading, live WITS lines, or an error message).

WTIS channels shows the total number of WITS field lines displayed in the grouped panels below.

Reload in: Ns counts down from 10 seconds between automatic data refreshes.

When the counter reaches zero, the page fetches the latest WITS sample again.

TOP WITS

The TOP WITS row shows large label/value cards for channels you have checked in the grouped lists below.

To pin a channel:

1. Find the field in one of the WITS Field group panels. 2. Check the box to the left of that line. 3. The channel appears in TOP WITS with a large label and value.

To unpin a channel, uncheck its box. Pinned selections are remembered per serial number in browser local storage.

If no channels are pinned, TOP WITS shows: "Check WITS items below to pin them here."

WITS FIELD GROUPS

WITS lines are grouped by their two-digit field prefix (for example, WITS Field 01, WITS Field 08). Each group is a separate fieldset panel.

Each line shows:

  • Checkbox - pin/unpin for TOP WITS
  • Label - field description from the WITS definition, or "Field NNNN" if unknown
  • Value - current value from the latest live sample

Lines are parsed from the format: 4-digit code + value, optionally followed by " - " and a description (for example, "0812 1234.5 - Hook Load").

Up to 90 WITS lines are shown from the latest sample.

REALTIME DATA

Opens a live realtime instrument data popup window for the selected serial number. If the browser blocks popups, the status line shows a message asking you to allow popups for this site.

DATA SOURCE

WITS values are loaded from the multiview detail endpoint for the selected serial, using the wits_lines array from the latest instrument sample. Values update automatically every 10 seconds while this page is open.

TIPS

- Pin the channels you watch most often (hook load, block height, pump SPM, etc.) so they stay visible in TOP WITS.

  • Switch serial in the drop-down to compare WITS between units; each unit keeps its own pin list.
  • Use REALTIME DATA for full live gas and WITS detail beyond this summary view.
  • If values look stale, watch the reload countdown or change serial and back to force a refresh.
