How to Download and Install iBall Instruments Gas Chart Software

This article covers how to download iBall Instruments Gas Chart Software from iBallInst.com
and install it on your PC.  NOTE:  If you are installing this locally and are connecting the
Bloodhound to the computer that will be running Gas Chart via a USB Printer cable, then you need
to FIRST install the USB Drivers for the Bloodhound.  See the "PREREQUISITES/ASSUMPTIONS"
section for more information on connecting your Bloodhound via USB.

PREREQUISITES/ASSUMPTIONS:

1)  You need a valid and working Internet connection.  Please test this before proceeding. 
     NOTE:  If you have just navigated to and are viewing this article, chances are you have
                a valid and working Internet connection.

2)  OPTIONAL:  If you need to "LOCALLY" connect the Bloodhound to the computer which
     will be running Gas Chart (meaning if it will be connected via aUSB Printer Cable between
     the Bloodhound and your computer - see figure below for an example of a USB Printer
     cable), then you *MUST* install the Bloodhound USB Drivers first.  For information on
    how to do this, consult the article entitled, "Connecting your Computer to the Bloodhound
     via USB Printer Cable", in the section at the bottom of this article called "OTHER ARTICLES
     OF INTEREST".
    


HOW-TO:

1)  Open your browser and go to https://iballinst.com/

2)  Click on "Downloads" drop down tripple bars on the upper right hand side.
     the "Downloads" page (as shown below).
    

3)  In the section titled "GAS CHART SOFTWARE", click the link at the bottom of this section with
     the word "software" in it to downlad the installation file.

4)  RECOMMENDED:  You may also click the link for the "manual" to download a manual for the

5)  Save this file to a location where you can find it (such as the Windows Desktop).

6)  Find this file and run it to install the iBall Instruments Real-Time Data Viewer.
     NOTE:  Depending on your operating system, the best option may be to right-click on it and
                choose "Run as Administrator".

7)  Verify the install by runing iBall Instruments Gas Chart Software: either
     a)  Double-click on the Desktop Shortcut labeled "iBall Gas Chart" that was created when you
          installed the programs, or
     b)  Run it via the Windows Start Menu (Start-->All Programs-->iBall Instruments-->iBall Gas Chart).
